Hiking trails were well blazed, but are strenuous. I can only hope to do something like that in the future. Take the blue paths for the more interesting and longer hike. Jason was pretty tired from swimming so we opted for a short tour of trails. This hike takes you up Mount Nittany about 10-15 miles east of Happy Valley, and it offers some nice views along with a memorial to its namesake, airmail pilot James "Jimmy" Cleveland, who died in a plane crash on the ridge. The Lumberjack Trail is an old forestry road with poor drainage, very muddy, and can take some time to navigate depending on the conditions. Be sure to keep going straight on Mount Nittany Rd East.
