Judd Falls Trail is a 2.2 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Crested Butte, Colorado that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. Reach a summit with views toward the north, from Mount Si to Mailbox Peak, and several other peaks in between.
The Butte Creek Trailhead is 0.6 miles beyond the campground, on the right.
From the trailhead, take the right hand trail that starts down near the restrooms.
From this last fork, continue steeply downhill for 1.1 miles to a bridge over Butte Creek and then pass Butte Creek Campground (Santiam State Forest).
You'll come to an unmarked trail junction in about 0.2 miles. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from June until October. This trailhead is actually south of Benham Falls on the east side of the Deschutes River, four miles from Route 97 and the Lava Lands Visitor Center in Newberry National Volcanic Monument (start of hikes to Lava Butte, Trail of the Whispering Pines, and Trail of Molten Land)..
