It's design for the more serious student rather than those looking to learn casual phrases before going on holiday. The Penguin Russian Course book. I don't suppose I shall ever reach the stage when I can read Anna Karenina in Russian, but the New Penguin Russian Course is a good place to start. The Russian language, when you hear it well spoken is also very beautiful to listen to. If you’re interested in the latter, there are definitely better resources out there for you. The New Penguin Russian Course is definitely for those interested in “slow learning” Russian and not for someone looking for just enough of the language to get conversational quickly. It's a great book, packed full of informtion and could potentially lead you to an A level.
