I have found that one of my favorite text editors for programming is Geany, however the default color scheme is very bright and hurts my eyes when programming for awhile. There is a interesting geany's feature to put toolbar aside of menu. I've tried a little to change only Geany's toolbar to dark-style but without success. Next, make sure to change your taskbar, search results, and other accent colors. In the window that opens, scroll down to the bottom and choose Dark under the Choose your default app mode section. AFAIK there is no option in the program to do that. I started using Geany on Windows recently and it was not evident how to change the IDE theme. There is a good post in the game creators' website by user Zerotown with a few dark themes: Click on the first option that appears. however make it inconsistent with non-light theme. Geany is a small and lightweight Integrated Development Environment.
To put Windows 10 in dark mode, first open the Start Menu and type dark theme settings. Geany ThemesGeany-Themes is a collection of color schemes for Geany, either written originally by the Geany community or ported from color schemes for other editors. These schemes are compatible with Geany 1.22 and greater. It was developed to provide a small and fast IDE, which has only a few dependencies on other packages. You can change color schemes, but that doesn't affect toolbars and dialogs, only the text editor area. Another goal was to be as independent as possible from a particular Desktop Environment like KDE or GNOME - Geany only requires the GTK+ runtime libraries. There are other color schemes available for Geany but no clear way for installing and using them. Look this screenshot: The Geany at the present version uses GTK+ (GTK 3 version is in development).
